Snakes and Ladders

This is a Windows version of the classic children's game, with a few enhancements.

This is a simple turn-based game on getting your piece up through a field of hazards and blessings to be the first to reach the house at the top by exact roll. Landing on the base of a ladder boosts you up, and landing on the head of a snake drops you down. Watch where you step!

Early on, you are limited by the mercy of the die. However, when you get dropped down by a snake, you get an experience die you can use later to dodge other trouble or win the game.

Complexity is simple. Start a game from the menu at the top with the desired mix of human and computer players. Then on each human player's turn, click on one of the dice and your piece will be moved according to the die roll. If you end on head of a snake or foot of a ladder, you'll be moved to the other end. Computer players will be moved automatically by the same rules you do.

You must land on the house exactly to win. If the roll would overshoot you, your turn will be skipped.

This was updated 11/11/21, added experience and sound effects.

Download, virus check (precaution), and Run SnakeLadders Installer - This is a free game

Windows will probably complain during the download and install, as this is not a commercial site it knows about. You can override each of the complaints and install anyway, or give up and go somewhere else. No known viruses or malware at this point, but as with all software on this site, it is use at your own risk.

This was originally a MOO ICT tutorial for WPF based on a children's game. I thought it was cute, so I would enhance it. Computer players, highlighting and sound effects were added.
